Aniel – 2 of Swords

Aniel 2 of Swords

Our Shem angel of the day, Aniel, ruler of the first quinance (five days) of first decan Libra. The planetary ruler is Luna.

2 of Swords

The 2 of Swords is a card of mental (Libra) and emotional (Luna) alignment. It describes a subtle process of calibration that comes from – moment by moment – making the choices that are either based in fear or in love. The latter, of course, leading to ever-increasing feelings of peace and contentment.

As for divinatory meanings, the 2 of Swords, according to Lon Milo DuQuette, indicates (among other things) ‘contradictory characters in the same nature,’ truth and untruth, peace restored and a tendency toward repeating offences for which one has been pardoned (ah, human nature!).

The 2 of Swords is one of the few cards in this suit that doesn’t make us despair when it shows up. It’s a card of respite, basically telling us that if we get our act together and make a wise choice, things may turn out OK.

The Tarot Soul Coaching question to ponder for this card is, ‘How can I make wiser choices today?’

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”

~ Buddha

Anael (Aleph Nun Yod) is the 37th of the 72 Shemhamphorash and his name means ‘Virtuous God.’

Aniel reveals the secrets of nature and inspires the thoughts of wisdom-seekers. The hour of invocation is 12-12.20 PM.

Aniel can help us understand long-term consequence of the choices we make, as well as to be more discerning when we need to quickly make our minds up.

The corresponding verse from Psalms:

Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved! (Ps. 80:19 KJV)
