Tarot for the Way 6 January

I can resist anything, except temptation.
– Oscar Wild

When sin became unpopular to talk about, we lost any means with which to overcome temptation. Everything became semi-permissible, so we now live in a post-truth world of blurred lines and no objective truth. Post-modern art is what it means to you. Cynicism rules. Symbols are arbitrary. And don’t even think about claiming to know the truth…

The quote above is considered a witty joke by most. I have a problem with that. I have a problem with using quotes like this to (in our minds) justify giving in to little temptations. Why? Because unless we are faithful in the little things, we will fall way short of the mark when we are tested in bigger ways.

And yes, make no mistake, we are being tested. We are in the middle of a war zone on this planet, where the forces of Truth and Love are being pushed back by forces of Greed, Lies and Darkness in wave upon wave.

The next time The Devil shows up in a Tarot reading, think about how you are being tested and what you must do to stay true to your highest ideal of love in the world.

It is by overcoming temptation in the smallest things that we declare which side we are on.

Love and Blessings,
