The scales will be balanced and everything we do is weighed and measured by forces far greater than us. Do our actions measure up? Are we leading lives that give glory to God who is Love?
Justice is blind. She does not care how rich, handsome or talented you are. She only cares how much you give of yourself out of love.
The 6 of Pentacles is a card of charity and giving. For the Frideborg Tarot, I have chosen the theme of a Christmas present because Christmas is generally acknowledged as the ‘season of giving’ when really, in the eyes of God, every day of our calendar falls in the Season of Giving.
The Ace of Swords tells is of a divinely inspired idea now rip for the picking in the ether. Will you embrace a new perspective on your role in this lifetime? Will you begin by asking the right question?
‘How may I better serve you, Lord?’
The quint of these three cards is 18 – The Moon. This tells us that we can use the Ace of Swords to cut through the darkness and confusion of our deepest fears now. These fears have taken root because we have chosen to feed the ego on a crazy pursuit of happiness. This insane pursuit has only lead to less satisfaction and an ever-growing desire for more. The ego is quite insatiable that way.
One of the ways the ego keeps us wanting more is by telling you that others don’t give, so why should you? ‘Look out for number one. Love yourself first.’ By comparing yourself with others rather than being mindful of the scales of Justice, you are listening to the demon on your left shoulder rather than the angel on your right.
Guess which spiritual entity most New Age literature is feeding?
It’s quite ironic that the ‘Oneness movement’ is rooted in New Age thought because there can never be oneness where everyone is putting self first. One prime example of how this movement thinks popped up in my FB feed the other day: ‘Attract the abundance you deserve.’
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” – Matthew 19:21
In all my years of reading New Age self-help literature, I never saw any of the authors giving the poor and suffering of the world a second thought. It is simply no concern of theirs. Their concern is to address our greedy little egos so that they may profit in turn from our greed. I got fed up and stopped paying for that kind of shit.
Yes, I’m still greedy. I’m nowhere near able to give as much as I ought to out of fear of there not being enough but I walk on faith of the words of my Master. I pray today for this Ace of Swords to bring a new thought that helps me become a better giver and steward of all the resources available to me.
The ‘pursuit of happiness’ brings more desire; Service brings contentment – This much I know to be true. I know very little else.
