Frideborg Tarot Guidance 1 December

It’s officially the start of the festive season so I thought I’d spruce today’s picture of the daily draw up a bit. Interestingly, the 4 of Wands is about as festive a card as they come… but it is followed by the 2 of Wands which can indicate conflict/increased pressure and the worky-worky 8 of Pentacles. Those of us who have to adult (yes, the verb) find our workload increasing this month as we rush around to get all the bits together for the Yule/Christmas festivities.

If you feel a mix of emotions today, allow yourself to feel them. It’s OK. If you wonder how December came around again so quickly, you’re not alone. And if you feel a lot of pressure to get it right to not disappoint the kids (or grandkids), you’re also not alone. Let’s cut ourselves and each other some slack today, especially with the sometimes persnickety energy of the 8 of Pentacles in the picture. There is no such thing as perfection anyway…

Today is a good day to prioritise what Yule/Christmas should be all about and set about making it so. It’s perhaps not so much about getting the perfect gift for everyone, as it is about helping everyone feel loved, including family members who you haven’t heard from for a while… And it’s perhaps not so much about creating the perfect spread for the table as it is about what we are fortunate to be able to give so that those that go hungry may be fed… What charities spring to mind for you today?

When there is a mix between Fire (Wands) and Pentacles (Earth), there is always a risk of mini earthquakes in the form of someone (perhaps even you) flying off the handle. Get yourself busy and channel any irritation into physical movement.

Time to go find those Christmas decorations… and to give thanks for our good fortune.

Thank you, God, for a roof over our heads, good health and plenty to share with those less fortunate. May we remember that to give is more blessed than to receive, not just today but every day of the year. Amen.

December Blessings
